OBITUARY: 
William A. Ford, 74, son of pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ford, died in the Dallas hospital September 9 after an illness of several years. 
Funeral services were held in the Henkle and Bollman chapel last Tuesday, September 12, at 3 pm, with Rev. Kenneth Johnston officiationg. Burial was in the Smith cemetery, Monmouth. 
Mr. Ford was born October 23, 1875, in the Bridgeport community, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ford. The parents crossed the plains as early pioneers. They hewed the logs and tilled the soil for the home they occupied during their lifetime. William Ford was their last survivor. He was a farmer and loved the occupation. When it became time for him to retire, he regretted that his failing health made it impossible for him to continue as a farmer. 
Friends and neighbors held Mr. Ford in high respect and regard. One of his hobbies was music, and he was a talented violinist. 
Mr. Ford lived at Falls City all of his life. Surviving are four cousins, Hettie Emig, Napa, Calif; Edith E. Gattis, Seattle, Wash.; Nellie Westbrook, Falls City, and Otho Bell, Bridgeport.
