OBITUARY:
Harold E. Shepard, 73, of 650 Taybin Road NW, died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was a native of Mound City, Mo, and lived in Greeley, Colo, for 20 years before moving to Salem in 1946. In Salem he was in maintenance at Salem Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1968. He was a member of the People’s Church, Salem. Survivors include his wife, Ollie L. Shepard; three daughters, Lee B. Chamberlain, Salem, Serena Mae Alexander, Portland, and Helen M. Harris, Tigard; one son, Harold L. Shepard, Albany; two sisters and one brother, all living out of state; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday in Virgil T. Golden mortuary with private family interment in the Zena cemetery, Salem. Contributions may be sent to the Salem Hospital Foundation Heart Fund, 665 Winter St SE, 97301.
