Margaret Smith, 80, of Salem died Wednesday. She was born in Bellingham, Wash, and moved to Salem when she was 8. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of the grange. She enjoyed gardening and bead work. Her husband, Clifford, is deceased. Survivors include her daughters, Maxine Severson of Salem and Evelyn Neal of Albany; stepdaughters, Doreen Nelson of Eugene and Doris Eshelman of Roseburg; stepson, Gene and Howard Smith both of Salem; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visiting will be from 9 am to 5 pm Monday and 9 am to noon Tuesday in Restlawn mortuary. Services will be at 1 pm Tuesday in Zena Cemetery, Zena.
