OBITUARY: 

Services for Mahlon Schlabach, 64, of 5435 Wallace Road NW, who died at home Thursday after an extended illness, will be at 2 pm Sunday in Western Mennonite Church, 9042 Wallace Road NW, and interment in Zena Cemetery. He was born in Sugarcreek, Ohio, and came to Oregon in 1942. A dairy farmer, he was a resident of the Salem area since 1949 and a member of Western Mennonite Church. Survivors include wife, Mary C.; daughters, Irene Schlabach, Corvallis, and Esther Field, Prairie City; sisters, Elizabeth Coblentz, Jemima Troyer and Emma Yoder, brothers, Jack, Ervin and Roman, all of Pennsylvania; one grandson.
