OBITUARY:

Death of an Old Pioneer.
Joseph S. Hill of Dayton, Yamhill county, aged sixty-six years and six months, a pioneer of 1850, died Sunday morning at seven o’clock, of heart disease, while crossing the mountains on his way to Eastern Oregon. He was committed to his final resting place at the cemetery at Zena on Monday afternoon. Rev. Beachamp of the Evangelical church of Dayton officiating. Thus our pioneers are falling out of the ranks of the living and passing over to the other shore.
