1900 OR CENSUS - Harriet Crangle (b June 1840, Iowa, married 37y, mother of 5 children, all living) enumerated with her daughter Alice Simpson (b Apr 1865, Oregon, widowed, mother of 3 children) and Alice's 3 children, Lois V. (b Feb 1889, Oregon), Bessie D. (b Oct 1890, Oregon) and Victor P. (b June 1893, Oregon); also with family was a ward Elmer A. Paulsen (b Oct 1896, Denmark, immigrated 1898) 

OBITUARY: 

Mrs Harriet Hocksey Crangel, 85 years of age, died at Lincoln, Polk county, July 3. She was the mother of Robert Crangle of Salem; Charles Crangle and Mrs Alice Simpson of Salem, Route 1; Mrs Bell Waterberg [sic; Waterbury] of Portland, and Mrs Addie Spong of Salem. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 5, in Salem Rigdon and Son. Intement was at Zena. Mrs Crangle was the grandmother of Mrs Maurice Dalton of this city.
