OBITUARY:

The funeral of Raymond Eugene Webster was held in the Zena church, Tuesday, February 15, and that of his brother, Arresta Franklin Webster, on Saturday, February 19. Rev Scott conducted both services which were rendered unusually sad by the absence of the mother, who was at the time severely ill at home with the same disease, pneumonia, that caused the death of her two sons. Raymond Eugene Webster, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs A.J. Webster, was born at Center Point, Linn County, Iowa, October 7, 1889, being 20 years, 4 months and 6 days of age at the time of his death. He lived in Iowa until 10 years of age, when the family removed to Gilliam County, Oregon. Last October they came to their present home in the Popcorn district, where several weeks ago the young man was stricken down with pneumonia as were several other members of the family. He died on Sunday, February 13, 1910. Raymond made many friends during his short stay in Polk County, on account of his manly, reliant and winning character. Arresta Franklin Webster was born near Troy Mills, Lynn County, Iowa, April 24, 1894. He came to Gilliam County with his parents, and later to Polk County, Oregon, where he died from pneumonia Thursday, February 18. Two days later his body was laid to rest beside that of his brother in the Zena cemetery. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their two sons.
