1900 OR CENSUS - Mary M. Stanton, age 47, mother of 2, b. Mar 1853 in Germany, is enumerated with her husband of 28 years, Harvey Stanton, age 72, occupation farmer, b. Jul 1827 in Pennsylvania, along with Harvey H., age 18, b. Jul 1881 in Minnesota. Also enumerated with the family are Albert N. Fulkerson, identified as son-in-law [of Harvey], age 30, b. Stanton), b. 24 Jan 18[53], Germany, d. 20 Nov 1923 in Morningside Dist., Salem, Oregon (lived in town 33 yrs; lived in US 49 years) at the age of 70 years, 9 mos 26 days, name of father Christian Rahn (b. Germany), name of mother Hannah [surname not given], (b. Germany), interment Zena; informant Mary Fulkerson of Salem.

OBITUARY: 

Capital Journal – Mrs Mary M. Stanton, a resident of Oregon for the past 36 years, died late Tuesday afternoon, November 20, 1923, at the home of her daughter, Mrs A.N. Fulkerson, following an illness of several weeks. She was 70 years of age. Mr and Mrs Stanton and family came to Oregon from Minnesota in 1887. Besides Mrs Fulkerson, the deceased is survived by a son, Harvey H. Stanton of Salem, and two step-sons, Charles J. Stanton of Monmouth and Myron H. Stanton of Brighton. Funeral services were held from the Webb funeral parlors on Thursday afternoon. Interment in the Zena cemetery.
