Randle, wife.

OBITUARY: 

Rev Louis H. Randle, 68, retired Baptist pastor in California and Oregon, died unexpectedly Monday after being stricken at his Salem home with a heart attack. He was a late resident of 880 Spears Ave SE. Rev Randle was taken to a doctor’s clinic and later by ambulance to a Salem hospital about 5:10 pm. He died about 1½ hours later. He and his widow, Mrs Marie Randle, served as missionaries in Chengtur and Ipin in western China from 1920 until 1927. They came to Salem in 1943 from Pacific Grove, Calif, after his retirement in 1937. Rev Randle’s last pastorate was First Baptist Church at San Anselmo, Calif. He was also pastor of churches at Sacramento and Cottage Grove, Ore. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Salem, where he also has been the teacher of the adult Bible class. He graduated from Shurtless College at Alton, Ill, in 1917 and also graduated from Colgate-Rochester Divinity School in 1920. He was born at Litchfield, Ill, Oct 12, 1891. Survivors besides the widow are two daughters, Miss Helen Randle, Salem, and Mrs Lois Parks, Tomales, Calif; one son, Jack C. Randle, Beaverton; four sisters, Mrs Pearl Hutchinson, Litchfield, Ill, Mrs Mabel Scheller, Mt Olive, Ill, Mrs Loretta Loeffler, also Mt Olive, and Mrs Esther Clark, Clinton, Ill; three brothers, Chester Randle, Miami, Fla, Frank Randle, Litchfield, Ill, and Charles Randle, Kenosha, Wisc; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services are pending at Clough-Barrick Funeral Home

The funeral for Rev Louis H. Randle, who died Monday at 68, will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday in Clough-Barrick Funeral Home. Rev J.R.L. Haslam, interim pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Zena Cemetery. Rev Randle had retired after serving Baptist pastorates in Oregon and California and a missionary assignment in Western China (1920-27). His home here was at 880 Spears Ave SE.
