OBITUARY: 

A funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 1995, in Evangel Baptist Church, which she attended.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Zena Cemetery in Lincoln.
Mrs. Purvine died Aug. 17 at age 87.
She was born March 21, 1908, in Union County. She graduated from La Grande High School in 1926.
She worked for the Oregon Highway Department and transferred in 1934 to Salem, where she married Ted Purvine. They owned Salem Navigation Motor Freight Co. for 18 years.
She was active in the Salem First Baptist Church.
Her husband died in 1979, and she moved to Milwaukie.
Surviving are her daughter, Belinda Renwick of Lake Oswego; sister, Eudelle Olson of Clackamas; and two grandchildren.
Remembrances: Camp Tadmor in care of Evangel Baptist Church.

Othella Gray Purvine, March 21, 1908-Aug 17, 1995

Othella Purvine, 87, of Salem died Thursday. A Union County native, she graduated from LaGrande High School and was employed by the State Highway Department. In 1934, she was transferred to Salem. In 1979, she moved to Milwaukie. She was a member of the Salem Hammond Organ Club and toastmistresses and enjoyed singing and teaching Sunday school in Salem’s First Baptist Church. Her husband, Ted, died in 1979. Survivors include daughter, Belinda Renwick of Lake Oswego; sister, Eudelle Olson of Clackamas, and two grandchildren. Visiting will be from noon to 8 pm Sunday in Youngs mortuary. Services will be at 11:30 Monday in Evangel Baptist Church, 2830 NE Flanders, Portland. Interment will be at 3 pm in Zena Cemetery, Lincoln. Contributions: Camp Tadmor in care of Evangel Baptist Church.
