Walker guardian for heirs); born 1797, Tennessee; settled claim 15 Oct 1848; married Mary, who died June 1849, leaving 9 children; married 2nd Rosaline 19 Sept 1850 in Polk co, Oregon. He died 16 Aug 1852, leaving one child by second wife and other children by first wife. Rosaline was born 20 Jan 1828 in Bath or Clark co, Kentucky. PROBATE – Marion Co Probate File 61, John Purvine died 16 Aug 1852, testate. Will dated 7 Aug 1852. Ewing Purvine executor. Heirs: Rosline Purvine, wife, & Mary Ellen, daughter [Samuel Brown named her guardian 26 Oct 1855]. Refers to 11 heirs to John Purvine estate to share in lands of donation land claim. Andrew Jackson Purvine paid to the following: Rosline Goudy of Marion co; Claiborne C. Walker & Wellington B. Walker, both of Polk co; Nelson Purvine, Charles Purvine, Smiley Purvine, Joshua Purvine, James K.P. Graham and William Purvine
NOTE – John’s widow Rosaline remarried to William H. Goudy and settled at Woodburn, Marion co, Oregon, where she appears with her second husband in 1860, 1870 and 1880 census. She died in 1911 and was buried in Belle Passi Cemetery at Woodburn
