1920 OR CENSUS – Edward [sic] C. Purvine (18y, b Oregon) enumerated with parents C. Dudley (52y, b Oregon, occupation mechanic) and Hannah (42y, b Washington) and brother Laurence (24y, b Oregon)

1930 OR CENSUS - Edwin Purvine, age 28, married at age 21, occupation service station owner, b. Oregon, is enumerated with wife Frances, age 26, married at age 19, b. Oregon, along with Richard W., age 5 yrs 8 mos, b. Oregon.

NOTE – Frances and Edwin were divorced. Frances remarried 25 Dec 1936 in Multnomah co, Oregon, to Ludwig S. Axland [Oregon Marriage Index]. She died 5 Jan 1975 in Lane co, Oregon [ODI].

OBITUARY: 

Edwin C. (Ted) Purvine, 76, 6670 Continental Circle SE, died Monday in a Salem hospital. Born in Polk County, he moved to Salem at age two. He was employed for 22 years by Union Oil Company and was co-owner of Salem Navigation Company for 18 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of Pacific Lodge 50 AF&AM, Scottish Rite and First Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Othella G.; daughter, Belinda Koehn, Portland; son, Richard Axland, Eugene. Services will be at 2 pm Thursday in First Baptist Church and interment follows in Zena Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Camp Tadmor Fund, in care of First Baptist Church, or to Salem Hospital Foundation. Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
