OBITUARY: 

George McConnell, 65, of 1210 Clearview Drive NE, a resident of Salem for 25 years, died Tuesday at a Salem nursing home. He was born in Omaha, Neb, and was a veteran of World War I, and holder of the Purple Heart. He had a ranch in Nebraska for many years. Survivors include his brother, Ben McConnell, Salem; and three sisters, Mrs Addie Samson, Sacramento, Calif; Mrs Nattie Line, grand Island, Neb; and Mrs Emma Samson, Lewiston, Ida. Funeral services will be 10 am at Virgil T. Golden Mortuary with burial in the Zena Cemetery.

George McConnell, 65, of 1210 Clearview Dr NE, a Salem resident the past 25 years, died Tuesday night at a local nursing home. He was born at Omaha, Neb, May 4, 1896. Mr McConnell, who never married, is survived by a brother, Ben McConnell, Salem; and three sisters, Mrs Addie Sampson, Sacramento, Calif, Mrs Natty Line, Grand Island, Neb, and Mrs Emma Sampson in Idaho. Funeral services will be held at the Virgil T. Golden Chapel Saturday at 10 am. Interment will be in the Zena Cemetery.
