OBITUARY:
Wayne D. Henry
Funeral services for Wayne D. Henry, 84 longtime Spring Valley resident, will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Barrick Funeral Chapel, with interment in Zena Cemetery, Rev. W. Harold Lyman officiating. Ritualistic services are by Pacific Lodge 50, AF & AM.
Henry died Monday in a Salem nursing home. He was a native of the Zena-Spring Valley area northwest of Salem in Polk County and farmed there until 1945 when he moved to Salem. His address was 1391 31st Ave. NE
His grandfather, Walter M. Walker was credited with naming the Spring Valley area, where he pioneered. Henry was a member of the school board there for 43 years, and for 40 years was a trustee of Spring Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
He was a 32d degree Mason, and a member of the Shrine. Henry is survived by his widow, Mrs. Delores G. Henry of Salem.
