OBITUARY: 

Gloria Ann Groom, March 31, 1933-July 20, 2004

Salem – Gloria was born to Maurice and Lydia Wallace in Fenton, Iowa, and moved to Spokane, wash, in 1946. She graduated from Cheney High School in 1951. She worked in food service for many years. She married Stanley Groom in 1952. In 1955, they moved to Salem. She was preceded in death by Stanley in 1998, both parents and two brothers. She was active at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Salem and with the Missionary Society. She volunteered at the Senior Center and for Meals on Wheels. Her greatest joy was her family. Survivors incluce sons, Warren of Salem, Bill of Lebanon, Byron and wife, Robyn of Bend, Mike, Gary, and Joe, all of Salem; daughter, Melinda and husband, Loren Wilson of Jefferson; sisters, Wanda Seals of Port Orchard, Wash, and Jan Mayland of Shepherd, Mont; sister-in-law and husband, Dick and Sheila Van Ornam of Renton, Wash; brother-in-law, George Groom in Florida; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many other loving friends and family. Visitation will be on Fri, July 23, from 4 to 8 pm, with services on sat, July 24, 2004, at 1 pm, at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. Interment will be at Spring Valley (Zena) Cemetery in Salem.
