OBITUARY: 

James W. Edgar, 86, member of a well known early day family which was active in the Rickreall-Crowley community, died June 28, three days after being injured while picking cherries for a neighbor in Salem. His neck and spine were fractured. His death followed that of his brother, Frank Edgar, by a few months. Mr Edgar was born December 15, 1865, near Oregon City and had spent his entire life in Oregon, mostly near Salem. He is survived by his wife, Edna; 2 daughters, Mrs Beryl Eakins and Mrs Coral Mooney, both of Portland; a son, Kenneth Edgar, Salem and two sisters, Mrs Ida Mae Williamson, Salem, and Mrs Marion T. Lance, Portland. He was preceded in death by one son, Dwayne, and the following brothers and sisters: John, Frank, Finley and Henri Edgar, Mrs Alta Gay and Mrs Ada Williamson.

James W. Edgar, late resident of Salem route 1, at a local hospital June 28. Survived by his wife, Edna; two daughters, Mrs Beryl Eakins and Mrs Coral Mooney, both of Portland; a son, Kenneth Edgar of Salem; two sisters, Mrs Marion T. Lance, Portland, and Mrs Ida Mae Williamson, Salem; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, several nieces and a nephew. Services will be at 9:30 am Saturday, June 30 at Clough-Barrick chapel, with Elder Shaffner officiating. Interment at Zena cemetery.
