Greta H. Coomler, 103, of Salem, died Thursday. She was born in Spring Valley and came to Salem in 1952.She taught school for 43 years, including 38 years at Garfield Elementary School. She was soloist and reader at the First Church of Christ, Scientist. Survivors include sons, O.C. Kumler, Beaverton, Kenneth Coomler, Brooks, Howard Coomler, Cottage Grove, Russell Coomler, Redmond, Ed O. Coomler, Tucson, Ariz; daughter, Suzanne Pruitt, Portland. Services will be 11 am Monday at Virgil T. Golden mortuary. Private interment will be in Zena Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church.
