OBITUARY: 

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in Riviera Baptist Church in Salem for George Herbert Beltz, who died Jan. 15 in Salem at age 80.
Mr. Beltz was born March 20, 1916, in Portland. He graduated from Benson High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a pressman for The Oregonian, Oregon Journal and The Columbian. He was a member of the church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughter, Maryanne Freedman of Bend; sons, David and Douglas, both of Salem, and Ronald of Portland; sisters, Ruth Zink and Lauretta Knopf, both of Portland; and eight grandchildren.
Private interment will be in Zena Cemetery in Polk County. The family suggests remembrances to the church or Mid-Willamette Valley Hospice. Arrangements are by Barrick Funeral Home in Salem.
