Ernest Reno Bowman, Jan 3, 1927-Nov 25, 1989

Philomath – Ernest Reno Bowman, 62, died Saturday in Corvallis. He was born in Bayview, Ore, and moved to Missouri. He returned to Oregon when he was 6 and attended schools in Blodgett and Corvallis. He was in the Army from 1945 until 1946. He married Helen L. Birchell on July 1, 1949 in Dallas. He was a security officer at Oregon State University for more than 20 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Faith Worship Center. He enjoyed fishing, camping and playing the guitar. Survivors include his wife; son, Dennis of Philomath; daughters, Jeannie Bowman of Corvallis, and Judy Gerding of Chantilly, Va; and brothers, Clarence of Dallas, and Shelby of Philomath. Memorial services will begin at 2 pm Wednesday in McHenry mortuary, Corvallis. Interment will be in Womer Cemetery, Pedee. Contributions may be made to the Oregon heart Association in care of the mortuary.
