OBITUARY: 

Homer Dale Bevens, 81, of 568 SW Levens St, Dallas, died Nov 1 at Polk Community Hospital. He was born near Airlie, on Sept 24, 1902, the son of Manley and Mattie Bevens. He was a long-time resident of Dallas and employed as a foreman and stockholder of Muir and McDonald Tannery for 53 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, on Sept 17, 1982; two sisters, Agnes and Letha, and one brother, Harold. Surviving are one daughter, Nelda Kingsbury of Corvallis; two sons, Eldon of Dallas and Stanley of Torrance, Calif, along with nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were Nov 4 at Bollman Funeral Home with Rev Rich Latta of the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas officiating. Burial was in Womer Cemetery, Pedee. Contributions in his memory can be given to the Dallas Ambulance Service in care of the funeral home.
