OBITUARY: 

Lawrence ‘Bud’ Bennett, Jan 15, 1912-June 30, 1991

Monmouth – Lawrence E. “Bud” Bennett, 79, died Sunday at home. He was a native of Plainview in Linn County and lived in Hoskins before moving to Kings Valley in 1929. In 1952 he moved to Pedee, where he married Helen on Oct 25 that year. He served in the Seabees during World War II. He worked for the Valley and Siletz Railroad and later was employed at the Evans Battery Plant in Corvallis before retiring. He served on the Pedee Volunteer Fire Department for 34 years and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Corvallis, the American Legion Post No 114 and the Pedee Memorial Evangelical Church. Survivors include his wife; sons, Earl Gage of Pedee and Tom Gage of Dallas; daughters, Laurrie J. Knosp of Pedee and Ellie Willden of Milwaukie; brothers, Robert Bennett of Klamath, Calif, and Donald Bennett of Kings Valley; and six grandchildren. Services will begin at 2 pm Wednesday in the church. Interment will be in the Womer Cemetery, Pedee. Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund or Pedee Volunteer Fire Department, in care of Bollman’s mortuary, Dallas.
