OBITUARY: 

Edgar Charles (Shorty) Staniford, 69, who had made his home in Dallas since 1932 after moving from Philomath, and a resident of 1800 Maple St, died in a Dallas hospital Saturday, July 25. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 28, at 2 pm in the Bollman Funeral home with Dr I.D. Bartell officiating. Interment was in the Brown cemetery. Mr Staniford was born Sept 15, 1900 in Lanagan, Mo, the son of John and Minerva Phipps Staniford. On June 28, 1927 he was united in marriage to Mabel Violet Russell in Salem. He moved to Dallas in 1932 from Philomath. Survivors include his wife Mabel, Dallas; two daughters, Mrs Betty Wells, Eugene, and Mrs Dorothy Courter, Dallas, three sons, Emmett of Springfield, Virgil of Rickreall, Kenneth of Dallas. Also two sisters, Mrs Hazel Robinson of Portland, and Mrs Ruth Walch of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho; brothers, William Staniford of Kent, Wash, along with 18 grandchildren.
