OBITUARY: Ulysses Spencer Campbell, 70, passed away Tuesday about one o’clock at the Remington apartments as the result of a stroke sufered a week previously.
Mr. and Mrs. Campbell had been visiting her daughter Mrs. James Toner at Leavenworth, Wash, when he became ill. Mr. and Mrs. Toner and Mrs. Stella Gilliam of Seattle brought them back to Dallas last Wednesday. The Toners returned home before the seriousness of Mr. Campbell’s illness became known. He had been in poor health for four or five years.
Born at Vincennes, Indiana, October 2, 1869, he came to Oregon as a young man. He had been a resident of Dallas and the nearby vicinity for nearly 25 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Campbell were married 16 years ago. Surviving are his wife, two brothers-in-law Joe Remington and Marion Remington, two sisters-in-law Mrs .Fay Brown and Mrs. Sadie Price, all of Dallas.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at the Henkle & Bollman chapel. Interment will be at the Brown cemetery at Polk Station.
