OBITUARY: Charles B. McCracken, aged 65, died Monday evening at the home of his nephew Homer Conlee at Salt Creek, as the result of a heart attack. Mr McCracken had been ill during mose of the winter, but had lived alone on a ranch a short distance from the home of Mr Conlee and only a short time before his death diod he consent to be moved to the home of his nephew. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Henkle & Thomas chapel and interment was made in the Brown cemetery. Rev J.W. Warrell officiated. Mr McCracken had lived in Polk county during his entire life, except for a few years when he resided in Marion county and Portland. He was born in 1865 at Ellendale. Those who survive him are his nephew Mr Conlee, one sister Mrs Lillie Olin of St Johns, two aunts Mrs Hulda Savery and Mrs Mary E. Remington of Dallas, and a number of nieces. In addition to these he leaves a host of friends throughout the county. Mr McCracken had never married.
