Lera Sue Williams, Feb. 16, 1917-Nov. 10, 2001 Lera Sue Williams of Monmouth died on Nov 10. She was 84. She was born in Conway, Ark. She married Hays Williams in 1941. They moved to Yakima, Wash, in 1943, and then to Mapleton in 1951. In 1995 they moved to Monmouth to be near their children. Hays died on Jan 31, 1999. She was a member of the Florence First Baptist Church which she helped found in 1963. She was the preschool Sunday school teacher for 33 years. She was also instrumental in the construction of the present church building. She was active with her church family and devoted her life to Jesus and her family and friends. She had been attending at West Salem Foursquare Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading her Bible. She loved having company and always extended her hospitality to loved ones. Survivors include her son, Dan Williams of Monmouth; daughter, Nelda Myers of Monmouth; brother, James W. Jones Jr of Littleton, Colo; sister, Mildred Woodard of Yakima; three grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. Celebration of life services will be Wednesday, Nov 14 at 11 am at West Salem Foursquare Church, 4750 Salem-Dallas Hwy, Salem and interment will be at Smith Cemetery in Monmouth.
