OBITUARY: 
Nada Runkle, Oct. 5, 1919-Dec. 5, 1998 Nada Lynn Runkle of Salem died Dec 5 in Salem. She was 79. She was born to Cecil and Zora Smith Embree in Lewisville, 10 miles south of Dallas. She grew up there, attending school in Monmouth and Dallas, graduating from Dallas High School. She married Norman Runkle on May 29, 1941 in Corvallis. After her marriage she lived in Corvallis and Tualatin for a short time. During World War II, she worked in the shipyards in Portland as a boilermaker. After the war, the family returned to farming until 1964. They moved to Corvallis and later to Salem in 1992. She enjoyed genealogy, writing, boating and fishing. Her husband Norman died in 1989 and her daughter, Willa Lynn Hughes, died last year. Survivors include her son, Monte Runkle of Salem. Services will begin at 1 pm on Wednesday, Dec 9 at Bollman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Smith Cemetery in Monmouth.
