OBITUARY:
Monmouth – Ralph S. Richards, proprietor of Richards Store art Suver Junction, died Tuesday in a Corvallis hospital following a brief illness. He was 53. Born at Prosser, Wash, Richards came to a South Benton County farm with his parents at the age of four. He attended Corvallis High school and Oregon State University and moved to Suver Junction, south of here, in 1947. He was a member of Willamette Grange, Corvallis Elks, Polk County Saddle-ites and for five years was a member of Southeast Polk Rural Fire Board. He leaves a widow, Mary Lou; son Gary Lynn Richards of Valsetz; daughters Mrs Judith Louise Pfaff of Newport and Cynthia Ann Richards of Suver Junction; parents Mr and Mrs Walter Richards of Suver Junction; sister Mrs Marcella Pfeifer of Salem. Graveside services will be 11 am Friday at Fir Crest [Smith] Cemetery, Rev Gerald Noel officiating. The casket will be open until 9 am Friday at DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home.
