OBITUARY: 
Funeral services for James Horatio Morrison, who died Thursday, May 21, at the Deaconess hospital in Salem, where he was a bedfast invalid for 13 years, were held in the Henkle and Thomas funeral home in Dallas Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. Rev K.E. Burke of the Christian church was in charge of the service. Burial was made in the Smith cemetery near Lewisville. Mr Morrison crossed the plains and mountains to Oregon by ox team when a boy 10 years of age, from Dallas county, Iowa, where he was born December 25, 1852. While still a young man he moved to Lincoln county. Some time after his marriage to Alice Titus, January 6, 1865 ast Elk City, he and his family moved to Washington. About 20 years ago they came back to Oregon, living part of the time since in Dallas. He has been a member of the Dallas Christian church for 13 years. Surviving him are two children, Leo Morrison and Mrs Allen Trager of Hoquiam, Wash, one brother, Chester of Elk City, two sisters, Mrs Mark Embree of Lewisville and Mrs I.N. Simpson of Portland, and three grandchildren.
