Monmouth – Donald M. Killen, 64, died Sunday while on vacation in Maui, Hawaii. He was born in Hollywood, Calif, and grew up in Laguna Beach, Calif. He moved to Oregon in 1965 and to Monmouth in 1969. He worked as a building contractor and developer and was president of Killen Enterprises, a family business that developed nursing and retirement facilities in Oregon, California, Washington and Nevada. He belonged to Good News Christian Fellowship Church in Milwaukie and enjoyed traveling and reading. On Sept 13, 1992, he married Nimfa Fontanilla. Survivors include his wife; sons, Rod of Salem and Randy of Corvallis; daughter, Debbie Stanley of Salem; and nine grandchildren. Visiting will be from 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday and 9 am to 2:30 pm Tuesday in Restlawn mortuary, Salem. Services will begin at 3 pm Tuesday in the mortuary. Interment will follow in Fir Crest [sic; Smith] Cemetery, Monmouth.
