James “Jimmy” Ossmen Herrin, March 16, 1982-Oct 28, 2003
James “Jimmy” Ossman Herrin of Monmouth died on Oct 28. He was 21. He was born to David and Mickey Herrin in Salt Lake City. His childhood years were spent in St George, Utah where he loved to play with his brothers and sisters. In 1992 he continued his loving relationship with his family in Oregon. His fascination with computers began when he was only 3 years old and he was a master of the keyboard. He also loved music and had a natural feel for rhythm. He was a drummer in two bands with regular gigs. His drumming practice regimen was intensely followed almost every evening. Although plagued with Tourette Syndrome, ADD and other disorders, he graduated from high school and attended a semester at Linn-Benton Community College. He had wit about him that was second to none. His sense of humor was loved by family and friends. He wrote poetry and stories and was a perfectionist with his grammar and spelling. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include his parents, David and Mickey Herrin of Monmouth; brother, David; sisters, Celeste Rust, Michelle Gonzalez, Kristi Herrin and Nicole Hill; three nieces, and three nephews. Services were Nov 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Monmouth and interment was at Smith Cemetery in Monmouth. Farnstrom Mortuary of Independence handled the arrangements.
