OBITUARY:  Cecil Embree passed away in a Salem hospital Tuesday, June 14. He was a resident of Independence since 1955.  He was born December 30, 1889 in Lincoln County, Oregon. Married to Zora Smith in 1911.  Survivors are his wife, Zora, one son, Norval Embree, Dallas, three daughters, Laura Koozer, Springfield, Beatrice Hiebenthal, Monmouth, Nada Runkle, Monmouth; one brother, Chesley Elton Embree, San Diego, Calif; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Services will be held from the Bollman Funeral Home in Dallas Thursday, June 16 at 2:00 pm. Interment at Smith cemetery, Monmouth.  Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Shriners Hospital for crippled children in Portland.
