OBITUARY: Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock Sunday by Rev. J.F. Dunlop for Robert Ford, who passed away at 10:30 o’clock Thursday night following a stroke of paralysis suffered two days before. Interment was made in the Smith cemetery beside the body of Mrs. Ford, who passed away several years ago. Deceased is survived by a son, Willie Ford of Falls City; a daughter, Mrs. Cora Wagner of Salem; a brother, James Ford of Falls City, and numerous nieces and nieces. Mrs. L. K. Ford of this city was a sister-in-law.
Mr. Ford was one of the early pioneers of this region, having crossed the plains with his parents from Illinois in 1853. The family settled on the old Ford donation land claim at Bridgeport and Mr. Ford lived there until about 50 years ago, when he moved to a farm about a mile above Fall City, where he passed the remainder of his life. His wife was Electa Nealy, also of this county, who died several years ago. One son, Jay, is also deceased. Mr. Ford was 78 years old last August and was born in Kendall county, Illinois.

News of Falls City: Funeral services for Robert Ford were held at the Methodist church on Sunday at 1 o’clock in charge of Rev. John Dunlop. Robert Ford was born in Kendall county, Illinois and crossed the plains to Oregon in 1853 with his parents who settled on the old Ford donation land claim at Bridgeport, Polk county, Oregon. He married Miss Nealy and they moved to a farm above Falls City where he has since resided. He had been ill for about a month and died Thursday, December 11 at the age of 78 years. He is survived by a daughter Mrs. Cora Wagner, a son Wm Ford, and a brother James Ford of Falls City. Interment was made in the Lewisville cemetery by the side of his wife who passed away a number of years ago.
