Lee Hilton Gillins of Monmouth died Oct. 19 as a result of injuries sustained in a farming accident. He was 63. 
He was born in Milford, Utah, to George and Norma Daisy Jensen Gillins. 
He grew up in Minersville, Utah and graduated in 1950 from Beaver High School in Beaver, Utah. 
He was drafted in the US Army, serving two years during the Korean War. After returning home he worked for farmers in the Minersville, Utah, area. 
He married Leola M. Mathews on Feb 25, 1956, in St. George, Utah. They moved to Oregon in 1969, where he worked as a dairy farmer until his 1991 retirement. 
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sports. He felt his greatest accomplishments were his children, his grandchildren and his service in Nigeria for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 
Survivors in addition to his wife include sons, David Lee Gillins of Cheney, Wash. and Mark M. Gillins of Rickreall; daughters Ethel Gay Liebing of Pasco, Wash, and Stephanie Simpson of South Beach; brothers J. Earl Gillins of Sandy, Utah, and Carl Gillins of Hurricane, Utah; a sister, Donna Jean Moser of Washington, Utah; his mother, Daisy Reusch of Hurricane, Utah; and 13 grandchildren. 
Services were held Oct 24 at the Monmouth Ward LDS Church with interment at Smith Cemetery in Monmouth under the direction of Farnstrom Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
