Kentucky); bur Smith cem; informant Mrs. Ada D. Alexander of 226 Knott St., Portland.
OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Lucille [sic; Drucilla] Burns, 85-year-old Polk county pioneer, passed away Sunday, March 19, in Portland. Mrs. Burns was the widow of the late William E. Burns, and had spent the greater part of her life in Polk county.
She was born in Illinois on July 16, 1848, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Johnson [sic; Johnston]. She came to Oregon in 1864 and on October 4, 1866, was married to Mr. Burns. The family resided north of Lewisville. Mr. Burns passed away in 1917, and her son W. J. Burns died in 1929. Shortly following that time she went to Portland to live. Mrs. Burns is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. A. Lindeman of Lewisville and Mrs. Ada Alexander of Portland, and a twin sister Mrs. Nancy Wilson of Reno, Nevada. 
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Henkle & Thomas chapel with Rev J.L. Burns of Monmouth officiating. Burial was in the Smith cemetery near Lewisville.
