OBITUARY: 
Claude Lewis, well known farmer of the Lewisville community, died at home Tuesday night. He had been seriously ill for several days, following a stroke of paralysis. Mr Lewis was born Oct 31, 1875, and died just three days before his 55th birthday. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon with burial at the Smith cemetery near Lewisvillew. Mr Lewis was of pioneer family and was born and raised hear Lewisville. He was a son of the late William Lewis. His entire life had been spent in Polk county, the greater part of which he had followed farmning and stock raising. At one time he was interested in the Dallas Meat Co. Mr Lewis is survived by his wife and two children, James who lives at home, and Leone, who is employed in the office of District Attorney Harcombe. He also leaves one brother, P.L. Lewis of Lewisville, and four sisters, Mrs Veda Madison and Mrs Josie Brinkley, both of Portland; Mrs Frank Smith of Tillamook and Mrs Ida Grant of Lewisville. He had a host of friends in Dallas and throughout the county.
