Boston, Massachusetts), maiden name of mother Elizabeth Ann Smith (b. Clay Co., Missouri), interment Smith Cemetery 13 Mar, undertaker Henkle & Bollman, informant C.C. Gardner of Dallas.
OBITUARY: 
Cyrus Lincoln Gardner, a life long resident of Polk county, passed away Wednesday, March 9. He was born on February 1, 1868 [sic], on the donation land claim which was taken up by his father S. J. Gardner, about 94 years ago in the Bridgeport district. After the death of the parents the deceased made his home with his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Gardner, on the old home place. 
Mr. Gardner remained unmarried. He received his education in the public schools and at LaCreole Accademy. He was a prosperous farmer and an honest man in all his dealings with his fellowmen. He lived a quiet, peaceful life. He was a good neighbor, and very considerate and appreciative in the home of his brother and family. 
The only immediate surviving relative is his brother, C. C. Gardner of Dallas. Besides him there are four nieces, five nephews and other relatives. He leaves a host of friends to mourn his departing. Fuenral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Henkle & Bollman chapel with interment at the Smith cemetery.
