OBITUARY: 
Died at the family home near McTimmonds Valley, September 13, Mrs. Jane S. Atwater, wife of M.L. Atwater, aged 71 years, 10 months and 13 days. The deceased was born near Springfield, Ill., Nov. 22, 1825. She was a devoted member of the M.E. church at Hamilton, Ill., and her membership was transferred to the M.E. chrch at Lewisville, Polk co., she having come to Oregon in 1890. She leaves a husband and 7 children to mourn her death. The remains were laid to rest in the Montgomery cemetery. Dallas Observer Oct. 8, 1897
