[Note - they are enumerated next door to Samuel's parents, N.[Nathan] G. and Elizabeth Bennett. Also enumerated with N. G. and Elizabeth Bennett is their son, [brother of Samuel] Silas D., who is also buried in Hart-Riggs]
1900 SD CENSUS - Mattie J. Bennett, age 23, b. Jun 1876 in Wisconsin, is enumerated with Samuel C., age 47, b. Feb 1853 in Pennsylvania, and his wife of 26 years, Mary E., age 49, mother of 4, b. May 1857 in Indiana, along with Jack G., age 21, b. Aug 1878 in Wisconsin, George M., age 18, b. South Dakota, and Lizzie M., age 16, b. Nov 1883 in South Dakota.

1910 OR CENSUS - Mattie Riggs, age 33, mother of 2, b. ?, is enumerated with her husband of 4 years, Rannie R., age 42, occupation farmer, b. Oregon, along with George, age 2, b. Oregon, and Audrie, age 11 months, b. Oregon.
1930 OR CENSUS - Mattie J. Riggs, age 53, married at age 29, b. Wisconsin, is enumerated with husband Rannie R., age 62, married at age 38, occupation farmer, b. Oregon, along with George W., age 22, occupation farm laborer, b. Oregon, Audrie, age 20, b. Oregon, and Mabel A., age 15, b. Oregon.

Pennsylvania), maiden name of mother Mary Elizabeth King (b. Maxville, Wisconsin), interment Riggs Cemetery, informant George W. Riggs of Dallas, Oregon.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 pm at the Henkle and Bollman chapel for Mrs. Martha Jane Riggs, 71, who died Monday in Dallas after an illness of six weeks. Rev Fred Towne will officiate and interment will be in the Riggs cemetery. Mrs. Riggs was born on June 19, 1876, at Maxville, Buffalo county, Wisconsin, the daughter of Samuel and Mary E. Burnett [Bennett]. On May 6, 1906, she was married to Rannie Reuben Riggs at Creswell. 
Before coming to Oregon, Mrs. Riggs had lived in Missouri, Colorado and South Dakota before coming west in 1902. She had lived on route 2, Dallas, for the past 41 years. 
Surviving are one son, George Riggs of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Cooper and Mrs. Orvil Allen, both of Dallas; one brother, N.G. Bennett of Monmouth; and one sister, Mrs. Wm Skuzie of St Helens.
