OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Ann F. Staats, a resident of Airlie for the past 35 years, died at the family home in that place on December 22, after an illness of several years. Funeral services were held from the home Monday forenoon at 11 o’clock, Dr. H. Charles Dunsmore officiating, with Funeral Director Keeney in charge, and interment was made in the old English cemetery. Mrs. Staats is survived by two daughters, two sons and two sisters: Mrs. F.M. Waters of Airlie, Mrs. L.A. Hecker of Albany, Willie Staats of Airlie and Roscoe Staats of Independence, Mrs. B.F. Smith of Lewisville and Mrs. Phya Daly of Portland. 
Mrs. Staats was born July 4, 1849 in Yamhill county, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Burns, early pioneers of Yamhill county.

Ann F. Staats, a native Oregonian and pioneer resident of Airlie died at her home there December 22. She was born in Yamhill county, July 4, 1849 and has lived in the Airlie district nearly forty years. She was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm. Burtns, pioneer residents of Yamhill county. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs F.M. Waters of Airlie and Mrs L.A. Hecker of Albany; two sons, Willie Staats of Airlie and Roscoe Staats of Independence; two sisters, Mrs B.F. Smith of Lewisville and Mrs Phya Daly of Portland. Funeral services were held at the residence near Airlie on Monday, December 24 at 11 o’clock, Rev H. Charles Dunsmore officiating with A.L. Keeney as undertaker. Burial was in the family plat in the English cemetery at Airlie.
