OBITUARY: 
Services for Edward A. Dunckel, 71, a resident of this community since 1915, were held Wednesday from the Walter L. Smith mortuary. He died at his home here January 28. Rev Henry G. Hansen of Portland officiated at the services and final rites were held at the Mt Crest Abbey Crematorium in Salem. Born in Butte, Montana, in 1878, he came to Oregon with his parents near Portland. In 1915 he came to Independence and purchased the Independence Laundry which he owned and operated until he retired in 1946. He was united in marriage to Stella Bagley at Lewisville in 1915. They had two children. He is survived by his widow, Mrs Stella Dunckel; two sons, Edward J. Dunckel of McMinnville, and Ray A. Dunckel of Independence; three sisters, Mrs Ruby Johnson of Portland. Mrs Ruth Norman of Berkeley, Calif, and Mrs Edna Carson of Oakland, Calif; two brothers, Bob Dunckel of Redwood City, Calif, and Waldon Hougham of Aberdeen, Wash; and three grandchildren.
