OBITUARY: 

Hugh P. Williams, son of T. B. and Susan A. Williams, of Airlie, died in a hospital at Eugene August 21st, following an operation. He was born at Airlie, Polk county, Oregon, May 26, 1866, and spent all but the last few months of his life at that place. He was married on November 9, 1887, to Martha E. Rose, who died in 1921. Mr. Williams leaves four children: Harry Williams, of Summitt; Raymond Williams, of Carlton; Mrs. Emmett Turner and Norman Williams, of Airlie. The remains were laid to rest beside his wife in the English cemetery, near Airlie.

Hugh P. Williams, son of T. B. and Susan Williams of Monmouth, died in a Eugene hospital Tuesday, August 21, 1923, following an operation for obstruction of the bowels. He had been in poor health for some time, and was operated on Saturday. Deceased was born at Airlie, where he spent nearly all his life, May 26, 1866. He was married to Martha E. Rose on November 9, 1887. Besides his parents he is survived by two sons and two daughters, Harry Williams of Summit, Raymond Williams of Carlton, Mrs. E. M. Turner and Norma Williams of Airlie. He also leaves two sisters, Olive Scanlon of Portland and Nannie Goyeau of Lane county. The remains were laid to rest in the English cemetery at Airlie, beside those of his wife, who passed away in 1921.
