Cecil M. Schy, Nov. 12, 1930-Oct. 20, 2007
Cecil M. Schy, 76, died peacefully Saturday at his home in Tangent. Cecil was raised and educated in Washington State. He worked there in a variety of jobs, including motorcycle repair and the lumber industry. In 1970 he married Frances Summers, and they lived in Albany, Corvallis and then to Tangent in 1986. He owned and operated Sanding Specialists Inc. Cecil was a man who always kept busy. If he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, he’d be outside working on the place or restoring old motorcycles or cars. He was an avid motor sports fan and love dall kinds of car and motorcycle racing. He also collected trains, clocks and pictures of wolves. He is survived by wife Frances of Tangent; sons Mark of Corvallis and Rod of Coquille; daughters Vicki Hanson of Willamina, Jodie Baker of Tukwila, Wash, Kelly Cox of Corvallis, Robin Ford of Tigard and Dawn Riverman of Hillsboro; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be a 1 pm Wednesday in the McHenry Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at English Cemetery in Independence.
