Portland Traffice Toll Reaches 15
Portland's 15th traffic fatality for the year was recorded Tuesday withthe death of Anthony Wayne Dempsey, 17, 8324 S. W. 7th avenue, at St. Vincent's hospital. The youth succumbed to injuries recieved late Friday night in a traffice accident at S. W. Barbur and Terwilliger boulevards.
Police said that Dempsey riding a bicycle, was thrown 25 feet when he was hit by an autmobile driven by John H. Adkins, 32, of 3742 N. E. 356th avenue. Adkins was arrested on a charge of reckless driving and is to appear in municiple court May 12,

DEMPSEY - April 29, Anthony Wayne Dempsey, late of 8234 SW 7th ave., son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. Dempsey, brother of Barbara Dempsey, this city. Funeral servcies will be held Thursday, 10 A.M., in the Finley's Morninglight Chapel, SW Montgomery at 4th. Friends invited. Commitment Dallas, Or.

Anthony Wayne Dempsey, 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Dempsey of Portland, died Tuesday morning in a Portland hospital from injuries sustained Friday night on Barbur boulevard. The bicycle the boy was riding was struck by a car when the driver cut in after passing another machine. The boy was a student at Benson polytechnic school He was particularly interested in aviation. In addition to his parents he leaves a sister Barbara. He was a nephew of Mrs. R.Y. Morrison, Mrs. J.R. Sibley and Miss Fannie Dempsey of Dallas. Funeral services were held at Finley’s in Portland at 10:00 am today with burial in the Embree family cemetery between Dallas and Rickreall.
