OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Sarah Ritner, aged 67 years, died Monday at the Dallas hospital. Mrs Ritner’s heart failed her following a recent operation. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 o’clock at the Monmouth Evangelical church. C.W. Henkle was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Edwards cemetery near Pedee. The church was filled to overflowing with friends and neighbors of Mrs. Ritner. Mrs. Ritner (Sarah Morrison) was born December 28, 1861. She wass a daughter of Tom Morrison, pioneer resident of the Airlie community. She was married in 1877 to John Ritner and the couple made their home in the Pedee country for almost 50 years. Mrs. Ritner had resided in Monmouth for the past year or more. Mrs. Ritner had been a member of the Evangelical church for many years. She is survived by her husband, one daugher, Mrs. Charles Kerber of Pedee, and two sons, Frank Ritner, Tacoma and Fred Ritner, Salem. There are 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Monmouth – Funeral services were held at 1 o’clock Wednesday for Mrs. Sarah Ritner, 67, who died Tuesday following an operation at the Dallas hospital. Sarah Morrison was born December 6, 1861, at Adell (sic), Iowa, and came to Oregon when a child. Most of her lifetime was spent in the Lewisville-Pedee region on the Luckiamute river. She has lived in Monmouth for about five years. Surviving are her husband, John Ritner and three children: Frank, Aberdeen, Wash, Fred, Toledo, and Mrs. Rittie Kerber, Freewater. Surviving also are six brothers and three sisters: William Morrison, Seattle; Linn Morrison and Mrs Maud Mattox, Thorp, Wash; John Morrison, Cabin Creek, Wash; Caddy Morrison, Auburn, Wash; Oscar Morrison, McKinna, Wash; Barney Morrison, Sunnyside, Wash; Mrs. A.Z. Tedrow, Monmouth; Mrs. Rena Turner, Freewater. A profusion of beautiful flowers was in evidence at the funeral which was largely attended by friends, relatives and neighbors. Services were under direction of C.W. Henkle, Dallas, with Rev L.H. Willard of the Monmouth Evengelical church officiating. Interment was in the old Edwards and Ritner cemetery near Pedee. Pall bearers were her grandsons and one nephew: Archie Kerber, Clell Kerber, Homer Kerber, Fred Kerber, Glen Kerber and Dell Tedrow.
