OBITUARY: 
Sam Edwards, 83, of 511 E. Ellendale Ave, Dallas, died Saturday morning, March 13 at the Ellendale Home for Senior Citizens. A descendant of early pioneers, he was born in Pedee, Ore., the son of Lewis and Eva Kinsey Edwards on Nov. 28, 1898. He resided in Pedee for a number of years moving to Philomath and later to Wren, Ore., in 1950. He moved to Dallas in 1979. He was employed as a logger in the Pedee area and attended the Pedee Evangelical Church of North America. 
Surviving are one brother, Arthur Edwards of Siletz, four sisters, Hattie and Zelda Edwards both of Monmouth, Bertha Ogle of Corvallis and Nettie Graves of Warrenton. Also surviving are 15 nieces and nephews.
