BURCH FUNERAL RITES WILL BE HELD AT DALLAS
Rickreall, Oct. 30 – Nathaniel Samuel Burch, native of Polk county and member of a pioneer family, died late Sunday night in his home near Rickreall after an illness of three days.
Burch was the son of the late Samuel T. Burch. He was born near Rickreall on November 11, 1856 and on October 9, 1879 he married Sarah Clark, also the member of a prominent pioneer family. Mrs. Burch survives him. They had no children but they reared Lynn Nesmith.
Burch attended the old Christian college, now the Monmouth normal school, and the old South Methodist college, now O.A.C. For some time after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Burch lived in eastern Oregon near Echo. Later they moved to Springfield and in the fall of 1925 they returned to Rickreall.
Brothers and sisters surviving are Mark A., Jake B., Frank P., Mary E., Caroline, Edith E., and S. Aurelia Burch, all of Rickreall.
Funeral services will be held at Dallas, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with interment in the Burch cemetery near Gerlinger station. The W.O.W. and the Masonic lodges will assist and Dr. D.V. Poling of Albany will officiate.
