The family emigrated to Missouri in 1845 and in the year of 1863 crossed the plains and arrived in Aurora, Marion county, Oregon, in October of that year, where the family resided as members of the Keil colony of that place until December 1866, when they moved to Salem. She married Andrew J. Purvine May 3, 1867, and until the death of her husband in 1908 resided at the home farm near Zena, Oregon. After the death of the husband she moved to Salem, making her home with her daughters. She is survived by the following children: Ida W. Willis, wife of Col Percy Willis of Boston; Albert, Mrs E.T.
