OBITUARY: 

Bertha “Bert” Carr, Jan 8, 1914-Aug 23, 1997

Bertha Carr, 83, of Salem, died Saturday. She was born in Trenton, NJ, and moved to Salem in 1979. She was a concert pianist and performed at Carnegie Hall. She taught piano for many years and later worked in retail sales. She was an active member of the Spring Valley Country Garden Club and enjoyed gardening. Her husband, Henry, died in 1976. Survivors include eher son, John of Salem; and sisters, Dorothy Harrison of Trenton and Ruth Carrier of Clinton, NC. Services and interment will be 1 pm Wednesday in Spring Valley Cemetery in Zena. Arrangements are by Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Chapel of the Gardens.
