OBITUARY: 

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 1996, in the Lake Grove Presbyterian Church for Hazel Virginia Purvine, who died Sept. 5 at age 80.
Mrs. Purvine was born Dec. 12, 1915, in Wilmar, Ark., and moved to Longview, Wash., where she attended public schools.
Following one year at Washington State University, she moved to Portland and worked for Sunset Electric Co. Her maiden name was Ferguson. She married Lowell B. in 1938.
She worked for Good Samaritan Hospital and was a member of Lake Grove Presbyterian church.
Surviving are her husband; daughters, Patricia Johnston of Portland and Susan Robinson of Tigard; son, Bruce of Puyallup, Wash.; sister, Doris Taylor of Grass Valley, Calif.; brothers, Brewster Ferguson of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Morse H. Ferguson of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren.
Interment will be in Zena Cemetery in Lincoln. Arrangements are by Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary. The family suggests remembrances to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation in Tualatin.
