OBITUARY: 

STROKE FATAL TO FORMER LINCOLN MAN
Lincoln – William Toner of Toledo, formerly a resident of Lincoln, died Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock from a stroke of paralysis Wednesday with pneumonia complications.
The funeral will be held at the Zena church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Dr. W. C. Kantner of Salem officiating. Interment will be in the Zena cemetery. The Salem mortuary has charge of arrangements.
Surviving members of the family are the widow, Mrs. Flora Walling Toner; one brother, Fred, of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. P. P. Wright, of Portland, and two nephews.

William M. Toner of Toledo, a brother of A.F. Toner of Dallas, passed away last Thursday after suffering a paralytic stroke. Funeral services were held at the Zena church Saturday, October 11. Six nephews of Mr Toner acted as pallbearers who were: James Mott, Salem; Harold Walling, Portland; Jesse Walling, Zena; Tracy and Alvin Walling, Lincoln and Kirk Walling, Unionvale. Mr Toner was an Oregon pioneer born at Oregon City in 1859 and later moving to Lincoln, Polk county. Here he met and married Miss Florence Walling of Zena in 1885. He was a railroad man and was in the employ of Wells Fargo Co for 40 years. After retiring from the express business he moved to his farm at Toledo where he resided until the time of his death. Mr Toner is survived by his widow, a sister, Mrs Carrie E. Wright of Portland and a brother A.F. Toner of Dallas.
